Arm wrestling is one of the fastest-growing strength sports in the world, but the tooling around it has lagged behind. Most local organizers still juggle spreadsheets, paper brackets and group chats to run their events, and athletes rarely have a single place to follow their results from event to event. Iron bracket exists to close that gap with software that respects how the sport actually works.

Why we built Iron bracket

Iron bracket started as a weekend project after one too many arm wrestling events were run out of a paper notebook, a WhatsApp group and a hand-drawn bracket pinned to the wall behind the head table. The sport deserved better tooling, and the tools that existed were either generic tournament software with no understanding of weight classes, weigh-ins and pay-per-hand, or federation-locked systems that closed their APIs and priced out independent promoters.

The first version handled a single-elimination bracket for eight athletes in one weight class. Everything since — double elimination, weigh-in workflows, live match calling, seasonal rankings, supermatches, per-club dashboards, multi-language support — has been added because a real event needed it and asked for it. Every feature ships with a public roadmap note explaining which event drove the change, and organizers can request the next feature straight from their dashboard.

We keep the core platform free for organizers so the sport's grassroots layer never has to pay for basic infrastructure. Optional paid add-ons (higher storage limits, premium branding on public event pages, verified organizer profiles) fund the platform and are strictly optional — a first-time promoter running their first eight-athlete open should never see a paywall between them and a working bracket.

Community, contact and how to contribute

Iron bracket is built with regular input from athletes, coaches, referees and organizers across several federations. If you spot something that does not match your local ruleset, if a translation reads awkwardly, or if you want to propose a feature, the fastest way to reach us is through the in-app support form on any signed-in page. Feature requests from active organizers move to the top of the queue.

Referees and technical committees can request access to the rules-configuration layer, which lets a federation lock specific foul rules, weigh-in formats and points formulas across every event on the platform. This keeps a national circuit consistent even when the individual events are run by different local promoters. Iron bracket is not affiliated with any single federation. The platform is intentionally federation-neutral so that regional bodies, independent leagues and one-off promoters can all use the same underlying tools.
